Now you don't have to pay the charge & you will get the card for free the first time but if you print a duplicate card or the second time you will have to pay Rs. Beneficiaries will get this card after biometric authentication. 

The central government has announced a fee waiver following a CSC agreement under the National Health Authority & the IT Ministry. While CSC is a private agency that handles its production work. The NHA will pay Rs 20 to the CSC for the first time a lifetime card arrives.

According to NHA CEO Ramsevak Sharma, PVC Cards will no longer be mandatory for availing the benefits of the Ayushman Scheme. Beneficiaries of the scheme will also get the benefit on the basis of old card. Health officials will be able to identify the beneficiaries through PVC Cards. Beneficiaries in need will be able to access health services without any hassle.

The Ayushman Bharat Yojana was launched by the Modi Government in 2017. Under this scheme, poor families get free treatment up to Rs 5 lakh. So far more than 1 crore 63 lakh beneficiaries have been treated under this scheme. What is special is that the beneficiaries of Ayushman Card will also be able to get treatment as per the requirement in any private hospital
